● born in a small pack, in the mountains of montana with her two sisters- vert being the runt. her parents both loved the three of them equally. they all had a normal life, nothing really ever significant happened to the family. though one day they were moving down the mountains, heading south for somewhere warmer. but vert and travis were messing around then suddenly an avalanche began rolling down the mountainside, sweeping the pups away, which is how the family got separated. mel was adopted by a coyote known as vera. vera was mel's caretaker until she was killed by a bear who was trying to kill and eat mel- but vera defended mel long enough to where she could flee. eventually in her teenage years, she came across her parents remains who looked like they died in a wildfire since their remains were a bit burnt. though mel did find her mothers necklace that she received from the owners she fled from.
